Safety, Rules and Banned items

Safety always comes first with The Party People, and with safety comes rules. Some of these rules are set by us, and some of these rules are set by UK Laws and regulations. Unfortunately after bad past experiences with people not taking care of our items we have had to ban some items from use when hiring our equipment.

Please take the time to read the information on this page to help understand what is expected of you when hiring our equipment. Damaging our equipment can result in a large repair or replacement bill, sticking to these rules and keeping banned items well away from our products is an excellent way to avoid any additional charges from us.

Safety Guidelines and Rules

Please note, we have a lot of rules, we are not limited to these rules and common sense also needs to be applied when hiring our equipment. Accidents can and do happen and it is up us as the owner and you as the customer to keep everybody safe when using our equipment.

Banned items

We have a list of banned items. these items can ruin our equipment. Some items are more obvious than others so we recommend reading the full list. Due to the materials some of our items are made from, some products you may think wouldn't stain, do actually stain (Water based face paint for example). Again, Common sense does need to be applied.

  • Face Paint (water based, oil based or any based)
  • Glitter and confetti (including Confetti balloons and Glitter Art)
  • Nail Polish (This can get tacky and transfer onto items on warm days)
  • Any kind of food or drink (including sweets, or slushies even if we have provided them. Please set up tables and chairs if you plan on having food at your event)
  • Any Sharp objects (check all clothing for zips or sharp decorations, remove glasses and jewellery and badges)
  • Makeup and lipstick
  • Shoes, Muddy feet (including adults!)
  • Silly String
  • Animals of any sort. (Charges Start at the full hire price of items due to never being sure if the next person to hire the equipment has allergies against animal hairs. although we do clean items before and after use, pet hair can be difficult to fully remove)
