How Much Space do I need?

Please remember that the size of the item and the space required for the item are two different sizes. You as the customer are required to check that all hired products fit safely in the set up area. No refunds will be given if there is inadequate space. Please also check that the hired products will fit through single doors, gates or alleyways. Some inflatables can be very large even when deflated and rolled up. if you are unsure about any of these sizes, call us before booking to check.

How much space is needed for Inflatables?

All inflatables have an inflation tube. This inflation tube has to be 1.5 meters long by law. This is so that is the castle deflates for any reason the blower is a good distance away to prevent any injuries. The blower is 0.4 meters long. Together you need roughly 1.8 meters for both of these combined. The inflation tube and blower are usually located on the rear of the inflatables, but can sometimes be installed on the side.

There should always be 1.5 meters of space on the left and the right of the inflatable. This is so that if anyone was to fall off or out of the inflatable, there will not be any obstacles in the way that they could hit on the way to the ground.

All inflatables need 3 meters of space to the front of the unit. This area is used for crash mats to soften the landing from descending from the inflatable, and also to give room for kids and adults to move around the area without being too close to the unit to prevent collisions.

To conclude, All inflatables need 1.8 meters of clear space to the rear, 1.5 meters of clear space to the left and right hand sides, and also 3 meters of space to the front of the inflatable.

How much space is needed for Softplay?

the sizes of our soft play sets is listed in each product page. the size shown is the exact size of the ground mats. we would always recommend at least 1.5m of space all around but if supervised carefully this space can be reduced and the set can be placed further towards a corner of the room for example.

Things to watch out for in your set up area

Always check and double check for any of the following in your set up area. if any of the hazards listed are in your set up area, we may refuse service but you will still be charged.

  • Cliffs/Drops
  • Overhead cables
  • Manhole/drain/services covers
  • Overhanging tree branches
  • Thorn bushes
  • Any sharp materials hidden in grass (example- old washing line pole)
